• With the advent of Windows 95, on April 22, 1995, Evgeniy released WinRAR , a 32-bit version of his archiver with a windowed graphical interface. This application quickly gained popularity because it supported all the features of the Windows OS — long paths and file names, multi-threaded work and the simultaneous launch of several instances of the application. Now there are versions of RAR for different system platforms besides Windows: macOS, Android, Linux, FreeBSD and others.
